Q. How much does it cost to be a member?

A. The current (2009)membership fee is $20 (USD) paid to the Red Hat Society when signing up on their website.  We do not have an additional Chapter membership fee in place but that could change in the future if we need to fund any activities.
Q. Why do we have to pay $$ to an American society when we are in Canada?

A. Like any other group, if you wish to represent yourself to be a member of a particular society, you follow it's rules, which includes paying required fees to the "mother" organization.  We want to be "Red Hatters" and all it entails. Paying dues to the Red Hat Society gives us perks that would not otherwise be available - e.g.: access to the RHS website, networking possibilities, invitations to RHS conventions, discounts.

Q. Do I have to attend all events?

A. NO. Being a Red Hatter is all about choice and doing as much, or as little, as YOU want to do.  We generally  have get-togethers once a month, which we take turns arranging, and occasionally have added special events.  Attendance is ALWAYS optional.
